 I thought so, too!!
Have you had a talk about it with them, though? Like have you explained to them why you dislike school so much and why?

And I'm sorry if this is too personal, but I'm just curious--did your parents both go to a catholic school?
Once again, I'm sorry if that's too personal. You don't have to answer if you don't want to.

yes and idk.... going to another catholic school for HS but its a normal school and its actually really tolerant for a catholic school (YAY HAIR!!!!! 8) ) plus my best bud goes there :D

Well, I say if THEY didn't go to a Catholic school and experienced the torture of it, then YOU don't have to go. In my opinion, they have no right to force you to attend a Catholic school if they've never attended one themselves.
It just makes sense to me.

But that's great, though!! :P I hope you and your bud have an awesome time! 8)

I'd say I'm still not very good. My wife says she doesn't hate when I play anymore, my 2 year old daughter thinks I'm as good as Jimmy Page and my dad thinks I'm awesome when he turns his hearing aids off.

funny thing is the school's attempted repression of personality has made determined to be something with my music.... one day i missed an assignment because of guitar lessons and the teacher went on the whole music is a waste of time rant and said id better get my act together and forget about music..... that statement alone, which was meant to break me, made me promise myself id be something and now i will not stop until my music is something and i can truly say "yeah this was a real waste of my time huh?" to those fools 8)

we have a school in town similar to yours.
i have a friend that used to go there and he left for obviouse reasons.
one rule they had that was really stupid was "you can not listen to any music besides christian and gospel (in or out of school)"

I’m a tough critic of myself in general, especially when it comes to my music. My goal has never been to be a guitar virtuoso, but rather a song writer/musician. Writing music is what I do well. I’ve also learned the importance of creating my own style and my own sound, as well as knowing my musical strengths and weaknesses.

And that, I can’t stress enough for anyone who plays. Do your thing as good as you can. Don’t try to be Hendrix or SRV, find your groove. When you think of all the greats, all the truly great artist, they all have their own sound and style.

So, the question was, am I good?
Hell yeah I’m good!

 I can just imagine their faces!! I don't think I'd have the nerve to pi** off a teacher, however. I'm too much of a goody-two-shoes for that. :P Thankfully, though, I don't have a teacher who has Satan's soul.

Well, on that note, I better head off and hit the pillow after I practice my scales and arpeggios. It's 12:58 A.M. here in New Jersey, and I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow morning.... 8)

'Night!! :D

I just have to say dude that whatever you may think of school right now it is better to suffer now and reap the rewards later as my dad used to say. You're there anyways so you might as well do it. Also you may not have any post secondary ideas right now but if you want to go back later on then you have to start upgrading and it just throws extra road blocks in your way. I was in your spot once and it's not fun but just attack it like you do with the guitar and it will all be over soon.

not so easy when you're at a hell hole of a Catholic school where you have to wear uniforms, no long hair, telling your side of the story to the teacher yelling at you is "talking back", you can get in trouble for what goes on outside of school (not their $%#&ing business), and we can't have a girlfriend/boyfriend (again they have $%#&ing place doing anything about this).... the place is hell on Earth

Woah your school must suck. My schools worse, its about 99% drug addicts alchohol drinking ferals. Its outa control, the teachers dont give a damn about what happens to the student. Like the other day, I dropped my stuff and i bent down to pick it up, and this kid just ran up to me and kicked me in the ribs as hard as he could, I was in lots of pain, and there were about 5 teachers around, and they didnt care (he actualy broke my ribs...).
