Well in NY they said it should be here tomorrow and I could care less, as it is the Super Bowl Sunday so I will just be staying in and watching the game.

We are waiting on what the South is sending our way. We had two feet in my town, at the end of DecemberThe five boroughs are on a storm warning. Eastern Long Island is still on a watch. They've even gone so far as to deem the Long Island Expressway as the border between a lighter and heavier fall. We'll see. Fortunately, Straycat's closer to a Department of Sanitation garage, so his neigborhood may have a better shot at an earlier cleanout. I was hoping to be in Manhattan on Sunday but that might be postponed. CV, I hope your cupboard is stocked and a backup generator on standby.
Doc we went and bought a few things Wednesday and the electric went out once about two hours ago but come back in only two minutes, Thankfully!!!! I think the two feet we had at the end of December were nothing to what we are getting now and you will be. This stuff is heavy wet snow. News say we are at 15 inches so far and they are saying high wind blizzard conditions tomorrow. Honker down Doc it's heading your way!!!!

High pressure is hoped to keep the bulk of the storm to our south as it moves easterly, but tell that story to the folks in NYC back in '47. It was just such an airmass which kept the storm over the area to cause that record snowfall.

They are saying there is about 150,000 with out electric at this time. and could take many days to get back. The snow around here is about 30+ inches and still falling  Most cars are completely cover and we won't see a plow in our neighborhood for days. The big question is which way will the plow make there first pass, which side of the street is going to get that snow to bury the cars that much more.

Been there......but it has been a few years since our last two foot + snowfall here in MN. It is always a bit eerie with cars stranded on the streets (some stopped and stuck right in the middle) with nobody venturing about - quite beautiful too......

Hunker down and hopefully power stays on for your guitar. Get some candles out and hopfully you are stocked up on libations and Oreos!!!

Good Luck C

We got our dumping on yesterday and this morning the snow was 2-3 ft. deep in the driveway and 1 1/2 - 2 ft. deep on the front and back decks,it's no fun shoveling when you're over 10 yrs old.

When not on Mars, I enjoy Central NJ as home. The snow here has long since stopped and I doubt we even got near a foot. Rather, more like 8 or 9 inches.

CV: Take care of yourself there in MD! I just checked the weather report for you guys and they said the storm is finally, but very slowly moving out to sea. Hopefully you'll be seeing an end to it soon.

Thanks Martian we finished at about 32 inches here. It seem to be ranging 28 to 36 in places. Can't see the cars out on the street they completely covered and the snow on top makes the look like hills. We did just have a 4 plow convoy drive up the street blades going side opposite side between them so now the snow is an easy 4 1/2 feet deep along the sides of our cars. But their is a lane in the middle of the road not that you can get to.

After the storms leave New York and New England and head out to sea they usually pick up momentum over the Atlantic and swing up our way, thanks very much lol.

What can we say? We believe in being 'democratic' about the whole thing!

I just cleaned off my car. It was warm enough right now to just push it all off where it began to melt as soon as it hit the street. I have to hand it to our snow clean up crew though, our roads are perfectly clear and salted.

Hey CV: How are you doing? Can you at least see your cars yet?

For those of you who have never truly experienced living through this sort of event, I assure you, all kids love it, most adults loathe it.
