They are both great guitars. One has single coils one has humbuckers. I also own both models. So go see what you connect with. I believe a guitarist should be equipped with both types of guitar (Single coil- Humbucker) in the long run. See which one you want first. As honest as your going to get.

Get the Strat first then go for a humbucker equipped guitar.

I'd go for the Stratocaster...but I love Fender Stratocasters. Get a Music Man later down the road.
