The other day i started learning SRV's Voodoo Chile through tabs, and it's quite a challenge. I'll probably have it down in a month or so. It'll be awesome when i can play the whole thing well.

So what song are you trying to learn now?

I've been working up Freddie King instrumentals lately, so far I have about four down and I'm about half way through another two. I'm just going to learn the whole album, they're fun to play and it can be a bit of a challenge to work them out by ear.

I'm also going back to the first blues song I ever learned, Pride and Joy, to work out the rhythm part again. I still play the beginner version I was taught, and I know for a fact that I'm good enough to play the real version now.

I'm also working on soul, jazz, country and a lot of different styles just for the fun of it.

Is that not the same song Billie Holiday sang and Bobby Womack did an astonishing version of but he changed it to Nobody WANTS You When You're Down and Out.

Check out both these versions l'il bro. You will love!!

I've been piecing together Hendrix's version of Voodoo Chile since I started playing and recently started up on it again. I had a stripped down version going but now I'm able to add in some of that Hendrix flavor to make it sound more like the real deal. Mostly though I've been learning the blues from the ground up. No real songs yet just various versions of the 12 bar blues and some licks to play over top. Just started to learn a cool Texas style shuffle too.

This week I started "Jumping Jack Flash" by the Stones, "Castles Made of Sand" and "Come On Part III" by Hendrix.
