You know when you hear one of your favourite songs, and you think, "woah this is cool" and it gets stuck in your head for days on end?

I listened to radio friendly unit shifter by nirvana a few days ago, and I cant get the (awesome) riff out of my head. Its kinda good, if its a song you like, luckily that is one of my favourites, along with many others.
I had this one by miley cyrus, party in the usa stuck in my head for about a week. I really really hate that song, but I heard it in the PAC at our school. I was like, "GET THE FU** OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!". Thank god those days are over......

Unfortunately for me its always the 5h1t I hear on the radio and it gets annoyin. Like you said with Miley Cyrus. Complete gumph. I love it when I get one of my bands tunes stuck cos it means it works and now we can annoy people too!

The other day I was reading the thread about the guitarists that don't get their due... Someone mentioned Jan Akkerman and I started thinking back to my college days when I had the Moving Waves album (just released) and I listened to the flip side a LOT! Side 2 is one long song (Eruption) if my feeble memory serves me correctly. There is a long solo that sticks in my mind to this very day and it's only the first few crying soulful notes of it.

Someone else here said that Eric Clapton wanted to play one note that would make someone cry... this solo from Jan is almost there. I can't get rid of it now.

Although not strictly a guitar riff, the repetitive motif from "Fool in the Rain" by Led Zeppelin has floated through my head at least once a day since I first heard it in 1979.

The intro to Men At Works Down Under has been stuck in my head the last couple of days. Apparently they're being sued over it for a copyright violation. The plaintiffs claim it is part of a childrens song they wrote. Anyway, if they lose they'll have to pay 60% of the royalities earned over the last twenty-seven years. OUCH!

Funny enough it was number one 27 years ago today in UK and US. I know that because it was number one when I turned 1 years old and my uncle who ended up teaching me guitar got me it for my first birthday. I still have it and it says 'To the number one boy on his number one birthday' on it. I treasure it. I'm 28 on Saturday.
