Well guys I've been lying in bed with flu all week and havin a crap one but I'm so excited at the min as the new lineup seems finally ready to take Belfast and hopefully the rest of the world by storm.

After months of debate we settled on the name Cross Eyed Mary after the Jethro Tull song although not named for the obvious connotations and denotations of that piece we feel we can really work it with a circus freak show kind of vibe goin on with the logo and font.

Line up is:

Kevin (me!): Lead Vocals/Lead Guitars
Seany (forum member Binterz): Rhythm Guitar/Vocals
Luke: Bass/Vocals
Mark: Drums

I feel pretty weird not doing my usual thing of rhythm and backing but like all new things I am equally excited.

Seany/binterz and I have been playing on and off with each other since we were 16 (I'm 28 on Sat) and have recently been doing small gigs as Buckfast at Tiffany's to try out the new songs. He was in my band when we lived in NYC and its great to be playing with him again. It just fits in a Keith/Ronnie, Slash/Izzy kind of way.

Mark and I played in a pretty well known hard rock band here together shortly before the band broke up and he is hands down the best and most exciting drummer I've ever played with. Small kit, big beats. Again, it just fits.

Luke was complete luck. When I was busking around Christmas I turned up at my usual spot and we was already there so we jammed together then I drafted him! lol

I'm so elated about it at the minute. The songs are a far cry from epics or anything as detailed as I done before. They are very teeth to the curb, straight out, balls to the wall rock n' roll and I hope the public take to them when we go out live with it.

Just wanted to fill you in, I'll get some stuff up end of March after we've done our new EP.

Cheers!

CC

I wish I was VT!

Yeah man, its a big bonus having a line up that is mostly friends, cuts down on the stroppy tantrums as there is a mutual understanding of one another. We can knock the crap out of each other and be best mates again in an instant. Luke is new though so we'll find out the hard way if he's a diva or not!

That's my favorite karaoke song by my favorite band ever. That has to be a good omen.

I love Jethro Tull man, I was raised on them among many others. My dad took me to see them when I was 11 in The Ulster Hall just after we moved here and then I went t see them again of my own accord when I was 20 (I think) in the same place on the Living With the Past tour.

I was wearing my War Child t-shirt today as it happens! lol

CC - Bro! I'm stoked for you! I think it's awesome that you've got your band together and you're ready to get things going.

I'm sending lots of positive vibes from southwest Oklahoma to you and your mates. Keep us posted as you guys get things moving and start to really come together.

And when you need a good roadie... give me a shout!
