You really do remind me of Kurt Cobain. Full of the joys of life every time.

Are you still in highschool? It only gets worse buddy so get a helmet and suck it up. I don't know who said this but it was a definite pearl of wisdom. "Life is like an Atari 2600 game... it get's harder and faster until you die"
I don't know your situation but you just have to do the best you can. We all do.

I think he is so young he wouldnt know what an Atari 2600 is. God remember how hard those games were.

Riley, no offense but captainc is right. Suck it up, life gets much harder. There are people on this forum who have lost brothers, daughters etc in the last year. Count your blessings and quit moaning.

Someone had to say it.

I'm gonna have to agree with CC, this isn't his first "Waaaah" post.
Riley you'll be fine everyone goes to the sh***er once in a while. But you don't know what bad is , when you get there it will be a beautiful riff. And probably your best song.

riley you pms alot.......

but seriously you need to get it together.
school is such a small part of your life and you'll never understand that until you get older. you should always try hard in school because doing well in school dictates your future. only a small percentage of people who do bad in school actually make something of them selves (athletes and musicians) so how well you do in school sets up the rest of your life for you. i try my hardest in school because i know to afford the things i would like in the future and to live the lifestyle i want to live when i am older i need to apply myself now in school and get a good education.
Because, with a good education you have more opportunities in your future.

Ooh, the compassion suddenly froze here. Why all the 'suck it up' guys? Life doesn't have to be a valley of sharpened rocks you crawl through with all the old guys who made it through throwing rocks at your head from the finish line does it?

If you look through all his posts since he joined Nick they are all the same. And there are LOADS of them plus he posted another today about how happy he is so wtf? He's an attention seeker and people keep pandering to him. Someone had to have the balls to say 'wise up'. I know he's a kid but the fact is we ALL were. Life gets much worse and with people in the forum having experienced much worse tragedies recently than how 5h1t school is he needs to be told.

I don't doubt we've all had our share of serious tragedy, but that doesn't make me want to be harsh to a kid. Everyone on here is an attention seeker in some way right? We're all sticking photos of us and our guitars everywhere, showing off how much we know about pickups and tube rectifiers. That's not a bad thing. If you think he's an attention seeker with LOADS of posts and inconsistent moods, then just don't read his posts. Do you have to slap him down with a 'wise up'? Got any kids?
Yeah, life can be very freakin hard on us, so let's be kind to each other. It doesn't cost anything (except the net connection) :)

I'm tryin to do the kid a favour man, he needs to know he cant keep getting on like that. The truth hurts and most lessons are learned the hard way. Indulge him if you want, thats up to you. I wont however.

Edit: p.s. Tanner is the same age as him and seems to have his head screwed on as do the other younger members.....

Perhaps I missed the thread that you said what your age was. That being said, 1) Things you don't understand will always seem more difficult if you don't try to solve what makes them harder for you.2)At some point in life we all figure out that unless we decide to make changes that we are destined to just stay the same,3) allow yourself the time to grow don't make decisions today that will effect the rest of your life. Finally 4) seek the professional help that these people have suggested. School is a time that can be very trying but, allow yourself to find out what it is that you do enjoy about things that maybe you've never given yourself the time to try to understand...

Good Luck!!!!

I'm with you CC. Riley seems like a decent kid, but the angsty whiney crap has to go. Kids these days need LESS Kurt Cobain and MORE John Wayne in the way of role models.
