I've been shooting and collecting firearms for a long time. I started shooting when I was twelve years old and collecting when I was in the Army and haven't stopped since. 8)

I have guns but I mostly bow hunt. I think its more of a challenge to have to get closer to the animal. I own some property upstate NY and I have black bears living on the back side of it. I don`t really mind that but when you want to BBQ you need a slug gun at your side.

Used to target shoot, and carry for self defense (cash deposits + bad neighborhood). Had; Colt .357 Python, S&W .357 Model 29, Colt .45 gold Cup, Browning 9mm Hi-power, S&W .38 Chiefs Special, Weatherby .22 rifle. When the kids came along my wife made me get rid of them. Bought a good set of golf clubs. Much more dangerous! Now if I owned all those guns I'd be on the FBI's terrorist watch list.

That's barely a handful? 8)

BTW... the S&W Model 29 is a .44 Magnum (ask me how I know.) Maybe you meant the Model 19 Combat Magnum?

Colt .45 Gold Cup - stainless

Smith & Wesson .357 model 686 7 shot revolver with 6" barrel

Smith & Wesson .22 model 63 - 4" barrel - cool little gun

Thinking of giving up the Gold Cup so I can buy a guitar or an amp!

Nevin, there's an upside to our strict gun controls we have a gun related fatality rate almost as low as the UK.Here in NL we have one of the lowest firearms related crime rates in the western hemisphere.I have some friends in the Forces who collect guns and they have no problem buying hand guns but where they use them and how they transport and store them is highly regulated and that's not necessarily a bad thing. It's a small price to pay for safety and peace of mind.
I would be willing to bet the upside you are speaking about has more to do with socio-economics then gun laws.

They are actually trying to get rid of the gun registry in Canada. I have not been following it lately, but it looked like it was possible that it could happen.

Really, was Canada that bad for gun crime prior to the registry? It was basically the same....
Gun laws do nothing. All you have to do is look at the ridiculous restrictive laws we have in Maryland and the the city of Baltimore will have over 1000 shooting this year and 300+ dead. That's a city of 400,000 and all will be by illegal firearms and the innocent people who have no criminal records are at the mercy of the criminals because they are not allowed to protect them self and its known.
It has been shown over and over that places that have real carry laws crime goes down. That way it is not just the criminals that carry but law abiding citizens who are not going to abuse the right. It sure would not hurt what goes on now and if one person is able to defend them self from harm it is worth it.

Have 2 fender guitars (jaguar HH and a Hello Kitty squire) and an old teisco.... i have 2 baretta 9mm, 2-25 cal pistols, 1 sks pre-ban assult rifle, 1-12 gauge shotgun with double pistol grips, 1-10 gauge shotgun, a couple of 22 rifles (i think 3), 22-250 rifle.
Not really a collector but i did some target shooting and worked at a gun shop for a while so you kinda develop a quiver when you are working there. like if you worked at a guitar shop eventually you would look at your room and say why the hell do i have 18 guitars? ha ha

I have two guns. A Remington 870 12 gauge. and a 17 mm HMR KZ hunting riffle.

There are very strict gunlaws here in Iceland and I am just fine with that. Gun related crimes are almost nonexisting here and the Icelandic SWAT teams pride them self on the fact that they have never had to use their firearms.

I love shooting. I have been participating in the shooting sports for about 30 years now. This shot was taken from one of out youtube videos

Some of my favorite "weapons".......

M4, American Standard, Tricked out Stainless free floating AR15 (this one built by me out of the finest parts around. A seriously accurate rifle out to 500 yards) with ACOG optics, and an AUG. On the floor my Trusty Glock and stainless steel Colt 1911 (another built by me).

Well maybe I got the model number wrong. But it definately was a .357 with a .44 mag frame. That gun was like a tank! What is the correct model designation?
