I lost all faith in music (or the music Industry that is) back in the mid 80’s……records companies don’t care about music only money

I hate my generation they buy whatever crap the record companies shove down their arrogant little throats and then they all try to copy the morons who play said music. example: lady gaga says shes bisexual, half of my school decides they are. its just getting ridiculous now.

Edit: i have no problem with bisexual or homosexual people i was just using that as an example and just realized how some may interpret it wrong

She is sooo out there they did not know what to call her music. I think it is more like POP. Don't get cought up with labels, just listen to what you like. Jamie Foxx sings with a harmonizer behind him and they call it R&B. Again POP. POP is short for Popular Music. Most music on this show is going to be POP.

It’s up to young folks like yourself, Floyd the Barber, to bring the music back to music industry. It’s that very type of anger and rebellion that helped create the punk rock movement of my generation. That was a rebellious response to the “corporate rock” and “arena rock” of the day (thank God for the Ramones!).

Take the music back from the "entertainers". Play real instruments. Write real songs about whats going on in the world. Strip away all the glam and flash and electrogarbage.

Gabba gabba hey!

I saw Lady Ga Ga's act about 30 years ago but it was called Madonna then. I think Nashville is the last place left that actually makes real music. I am not a big country fan but it is real music played and sung by real musicians.

The great thing about living in the USA your not forced to listen to anything. If I don't like it the channel gets change and there's plenty to choose from either on tv or radio.

Lady GaGa seems to do whatever she wants, whenever she wants, and doesn't seem to be bothered by what others have to say or think about it...Isn't that what the definition of "punk" is? I know thats what the definition was at some point, but I guess Hot Topic sort of changed what "punk" is supposed to be these days....

they can't have said punk because otherwise she'd have been nominated in the rock category surely? she's pop and dance/electronic without a doubt, which is what she won her award for.

Having said this, the fact madonna is in the rock and roll hall of fame speaks volumes about rock's standing in the world and what it actually means to people. I mean has she ever done a track remotely like rock and roll??

thats what im trying to do.... my biggest musical influences are bands lik nirvana, tad, the melvins and green river... and as far as clothing styles go; who gives a flying $#!* if its ripped or its some ugly plaid (sp?) pattern... its comfortable and its cheap rather than $150 and tighter than spandex lol

Go to a 'Jazz' festival, in quite a few cases there will be many funk grooves hanging on the I.

Then head on over to a 'Blues' festival and good luck. I worked a gig on one summer festival in which the 2nd band to headliner only played one shuffle out of the whole set. I do understand variations, but in a blues band context to have only one shuffle groove in that genre is B.S. to the audience & the art form.

What is called R & B, AKA Rhythm & Blues, do you hear any correlation in that genre with blues and old school rhythms? Usually it isn't even a drummer.

I know music evolves, but when it is denatured beyond any recognition of it's original roots, what is the point of a genre. What if food and/or a good beverage was similar to this self appointed chaos? It would be scary from both a nutritional and tolerable standpoint.

Don't remember what year they awarded Stevie Wonder multiple grammy's, he is one of my all time favorite musician/singers, there were plenty of award worthy recordings that year, so apparently, the grammy's are a not about music. what a grammy is for since that show is any bodies guess.
