Yeah, that was the King of the Blues contest last August. I won the store finals, but I didn't make it to the next round in Dallas. That's alright though, because it was a lot of fun and I learned a ton. The guy who posted that video did so without permission, and sparked a comment war. But hey, any publicity is good publicity, right?

Here's the video (which was posted with permission) of me playing the district finals. I was more relaxed and I think I might have done a little bit better with it. I wish I could redo it now, it's amazing what six months of practicing a song can do. Oh, don't turn it up too loud because my Grandmother's whistling right in the camera mic at the beginning.

Very good job!
Are you still using a Squire? If so, have you thought about getting a Fender Stratocaster?

I have a Fender MIM Strat, and the Squier has Texas Specials in it. I like them both, so I play them both about 50/50. The Squier is still a Squier (crappy hardware), but with the new pickups and a pro set up it plays and sounds almost as good as a Fender.

Texas is a girl too, outside of Fhopkins how many really knew that one. The girls are going undercover and are planning a takeover, I feel it.lol Texas first let me congratulate you on a great performance. I love the styling with the hat and purple ax, and it sounds like you listen to some Freddie King as to boot as I love the little breakdown that sounds a bit like the Stumble. You did the Forum very proud and I think everyone else would love to see something else if you have it.

I am going to blow some minds to as I am also a woman-NOT,lol But I did get a first in my life as I was called Sir by Campbell.

Anyway the women are showing strength in numbers and I learned two regulars have been women the whole time and really enjoyed watching and hearing Texas perform. Well we have the best of everything so it should not be a shock we have the best females of any forum to.

Freddie King had quite a bit to do with that song. I based how the whole thing worked on his instrumentals. :)

Thanks Twelvebar and Triskele for the tips. I'm always looking for new artists (or sources of inspiration) to follow.

Like Janet Jackson says:

Nasty, nasty boys, gimme a nasty groove
Nasty, nasty boys, lemme see your nasty body move

I could learn to like this, listen up

I'm not a prude, I just want some respect
So close the door if you want me to respond
Cause privacy is my middle name
My last name is control
No, my first name ain't baby
It's Janet - Miss Jackson if you're nasty

Very nice! Wasn't knockin' the Squire, by the way. Keep rockin', girl!
