I wasnt familiar with the company EVH and again i was basing that on what i know about those replica guitars..... so you can see why i had my suspicions about it. again no disrespect or harm was meant and i certainly wasnt trying to take cheap shots at fender

Well there are all kinds of reproductions of Eddies Frankenstrat as it is one of the most famous guitars in history. Usually it will be a homemade job or a Wolfgang that someone striped out. Also a lot of guys play in tribute bands.

On the Fender reproduction to be honest that guitar is more for a straight up guitar collector than a player as the ax is 20 grand.

I buy a guitar for what it offers me and I have a Clapton Strat for the TBX and Mid boost that it offers that can give you a creamy tone that semi borders on humbuckers. I also have a Beck Strat because it has one of the best necks you will ever play an LSR nut and Hot noiseless pups besides a great trem system. I bought these guitars because I love the way they feel and play no different than when I bought my 85 62 reissue MIJ Tele over any US model in the store at the time as it connected with me.

As far as relics I hate them and really cant wait till Fender stops making them. There is a clip from the Music Zoo on the web with Mike Eldred and the custom shop guys showing off some new relics and Mike says I would love to be making some new axes but this is what the people want right now. So that makes sense to me from every angle. The only place it does not make sense is in all my years I have never seen a guy show me his ax and it looked anything like some of these relics that look like they tied to a bumper drove around an hour then left it in the yard over a heavy winter. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder and collector.
