Heya Riley,
I'm in Melbourne (see my, uh, location thingy). But I was born in Lundun, grew up in Tassie, lived in a few places in Euro for a few years. I'm either a nomad, or confused. Most definitely probably an Aussie tho.

Yeah, cool Riley, I know Benalla... driven through there a few times on the way to country gigs or doing the long drive to Sydney, and sometimes stopped for food on the way. I had a girlfriend who lived in Myrtleford for a while, so was up that way quite a bit. You're just near Violet Town to yeah? Killing Heidi came from there, they were a great band for their brief time - google them if you haven't heard of 'em.
cheers,
nick

Benalla's a really neat country town. Would have been nice and hot there today too! I'm on the Mornington Peninsula and I just wish it'd hurry up and cool down tonight.

Not from Aussie here, but that's the one place I'd like to visit before I check out.

Rock on.

I'm Australian (Sydney)... and most of my posts seem to begin "Here in Australia, we..." so I'm not shy about broadcasting that fact.

I go through periods where I don't post very frequently, though, so we may not have crossed paths in a while.

BTW- Im going to see AC/DC this thursday at Western Springs, Auckland. It should be a bloody good show mate 8) Phil Rudd has a house in Whakatane with his wife. Back in the day, he lived in Melbourne

Phil Rudd is, IMO, the best drummer i have ever seen.... at the show i went to (both actually) he held the same pocket for AT LEAST 15 minutes without error, no signs of tiring etc.... it was like a bloody metronome lol

You're right Floyd, the man is a machine!
I met him years ago in a music shop in Sydney, couldn't believe it was really him. I must have seemed really dumb, I said
"you're Phil Rudd!" sounding surprised,
and he laughed and said "Yeah..."
and I said
"No, you're Phil Rudd!"
He laughed. I think that was in the period he was out of the band anyway, but he didn't mind being recognised and was a friendly guy.

Hi mondo: I for one notice those absences. I much enjoy what you have to offer - it's better here when you're around!

Don't be a stranger...

Brilliant story mate, yeah I saw them last nite- you're right, playing 'Let There Be Rock" the guy held a good steady constant beat for a good 15mins- not skipping just like a metronome.

Angus however, was brilliant. That guy I have to say, is the most charismatic guitarist today. Malcolm also, has one of the best execution and attack a background rhythym guitarist could have. His chops were clear and precise- his timing aswell as Phil was impecable.
Cliff Williams bass rumbled in the background complimenting Phil's thunderous beat and Brians snarl, his dirty grin along with his suggestive lyrics put the icing on the cake. Add to the rock and roll locomotive busting through the stage, rosie on top straddling the engine and tapping her feet, Brian swinging on "Hell's Bell" and the battery of cannons... OMG what a show.

I will not forget to mention, there were a lot of topless woman being filmed on 'The Jack", Angus stripping down also. The ticket tape and the lift that angus played on above the catwalk... It was brilliant.

I must say- Australia can pump out some mean talent, AC/DC, Silverchair, Barnes, INXS... I guess it rubs off on us Kiwis too. We like our music twice as loud and offensive as the northern hemisphere folk. Play a mean game of Rugby, We play our guitars harder and we don't give up either...
