Wow Gratz, thats a keeper mate.

Thats a beauty. What are them 18v actives like? I was considering modding my clapton circuit'd guitar to 18V to see if it gets it any clearer.

I have one of Boz Burrell's (ex bad company) old washburn basses coming in soon for a bit of TLC. He gave it to my bands bassist shortly before he passed on.

So I'll be looking for info soon.

Hi guys it is an amazing instrument, It has been modded along the line somewhere. The pups were not the original ,The slider switches ,and the front toggle are disengaged and all the tone stack is on the knobs.
I ran it through a mesa 400+ all tube bass amp , The 18v circuit is more tone than I know what to do with, this thing is a masters instrument and theres a really cool story about how I ended up with it .
However it is a long lost instrument of Percy Jones and I have decided to give it back to him . What can I say, the guitar was made for him.

And after a while ........
You can work on points for style.
Like a club tie,
A firm hand shake,
A certain look in the eye,
And an eeeeasy smile ...

Hi guys hope nik is still out there . I have this old electra guitar I had rewired by luthier gordon groves. It is an 18v active ciruit running 2 humbuckers that can be split with push pull nobs. The 3 toggles control 2 preamps and a tone boost, im still finding tones on this .[img][/img]Image[img][/img]Image[img][/img]Image[img][/img]

UPDATE: To Snowy and Gratz - you boys really are the ultimate!

Very, very grateful - and my mind is cranking up to think of a way to
return the compliment...

Thank you both.

And to everyone else: mysterious, ain't it...?

Gratz.

EMG say that wiring their pickups to 18v as opposed to 9v givees a clearer sound. Its something I'm intrested in trying on the clapton circuit, as the mids can mud up a bit under a lot of gain. Must be why EC uses twins now, I've never heard a muddy twin. Hopefully the added clarity of a 18v circuit can help sort that a little. How do you find your Electra?

Thats a beautiful guitar btw. I'm looking them up now. Found this.

I can see I've got some investigating infront of me.
