if you build guitars why not just build yourself a custom job and call it a day?

I'm left handed but was lucky because I can only play guitar right handed... and if you want a certain guitar/bass bad enough couldn't you just do what McCartney did with his Casino/Texan/Esquire and what Hendrix did with his Strat and just string them upside down? I know it's goofy but it still looks cool (imo) and that's what I'd do

But I think you have a valid point and wish you luck because I have a few lefty friends who are in the same boat and hate the fact that I have access to so many guitars lol

My thoughts precisely.

I build my own for the very reason(s) the OP cited. And I couldn't care less that the completed instrument didn't come from the Custom Shop with a COA, fancy case, or some celebrity's signature on the headstock.

Nor do I fault FMIC for its philosophy -- they are building and selling instruments that, for the most part, serve a mass market and have the broadest sppeal. I just don't happen to fall into that marketing pigeonhole.

My dos centavos......

Arjay
