Thanks for the advice guys! Lol I think I understand now. My problem was I had the bass for one week and is got big gouge or like warped the neck in that ONE week I wouldd be pretty pissed off. Maybe that's just me but the scares should come from years of playing right? Not like 6 days of playing.

Just enjoy her bro. Play it like it should be played, keep it away from radiators, heaters etc, let her sleep in a sturdy case, clean her and by all means, put your mark on her. It makes it your guitar. In terms of dents, scratches etc, First is the worst, the rest are the best. My 72 RI has worn marks, rusty screws etc, a few dents but she tells tales of my time at C.B.G.B's, playing with Steve Adler etc. Just like me she is battered and bruised and the mojo increases every gig, big or small.

Enjoy bro.

I can relate to this. I'm a guy who not only babies his own stuff but I get jumpy when I see other people abuse their stuff, lol. My guitar is my baby too but I think that you bought it for a reason and that's to play and enjoy it. I'd just keep an eye on my stuff and think ahead to possible places to put it so it would be in the line of fire the least.

You think you guys get nervous about your "expensive" guitars? Imagine what It's like for violinists who own Stradivarius violins worth a million bucks. (give or take a couple hundred thousand bucks). Kinda brings it into perspective a little better, don't it?

Several years ago Yo Yo Ma left his multi-million dollar Stradivarius cello in the trunk of a N.Y. taxi but luckily the cabbie discovered it before it could have disappeared.
