I have the opportunity to pick up a Boss '59 Bassman pedal. Has anyone had one, played through one, had any experience with one? Any feedback would be appreciated.

I tried the bassman and the deluxe versions. Both are good and give a decent representation of the sound if you dont plug em into the input of a amp. Plug your guitar into the pedals input, plug the pedals output into the input of your effects return. You bypass the front end of the amp that ruins the sound of the pedal. You will be dependant on the pedals tone, gain and volume controls for your sound and volume.

Thanks nik. I should have explained a little more in my original post I would use the bassman as a pre-gain into my Blues Junior. Keep the amp volume below breakup and allow the bassman to provide the tonal variations. Since there is no effects loop on the BJ, am I looking at trouble?
