I had the privilege of seeing SRV a few months before we lost him. It was close to a religious experience. Don't want to say someone is second but i haven't seen a perfomance equal it. Also lucky to see Vai, Malmsteen, Gallahger, Clapton, Hoey.

Stevie Ray Vaughan just before the In Step album came out. He was playing at Great America Amusment park in Santa Clara, CA. He really tore it up.

2nd would be Clapton when he was doing the Nothing But the Blues Tour. I've seen Clapton about 5 times in concert starting in about 1988. And this was his best performance out of those shows.

David Gilmour, from front row directly in front of him, Oakland California December 1987, with dehydrated Pink Floyd on the Momentary Lapse tour. I think Guy Pratt, on bass near Gilmour, might have thought I wasn't enjoying myself, because I wasn't going nuts like everyone around me. But that was just a manifestation of respect and reverence for their performance; I was concentrating. I wanted to remember it well for the rest of my life.

Probably got a radiation burn from the stage lights. Those things were bright... 8)

It took me a minute to get that. Brilliant wit.

Okay I have no jealousy in me when it comes to others and what they have or done especially friends, but I just got hit with my first dose of the emotion as I now hate everyone of you that seen Hendrix.lol There is no topping that.

For me I am not going to list everyone I have seen just those I thought were great and that would be Page, May, Satriani, Vai, Yngwie, Slash and Setzer.

I could run a real long list like captain eyeball's but won't.

Frank Marino is absolutely, breathtakingly awesome live.

I've been very fortunate to see almost every guitarist I like at least once...except Hendrix and Allman. In Feb. '76, Rory Gallagher appeared for two nights (2 shows per night) at the Bottom Line club in New York City. The Bottom Line was ... .... an awesome place to see and hear live music. Set in Greenwich Village, it was a small venue, seating about 400 people. I had a table next to the stage, approximately 2 feet from Gallagher's mike stand. Each show lasted almost 3 hours. The truly amazing thing was Rory never played a song, any song, the same way. He considered it a challenge and display of a test of a musician to come up with something different. He was in his prime at this time - he would start off with electric for over an hour, play acoustic guitar for maybe 20 minutes by himself and then play another hour or so when his band returned. He didn't take any break or intermission. I don't know of another guitarist of this caliber who could play electric/ acoustic/ slide guitar , sing, write, produce and play a bunch of other instruments. He played such a great harmonica and was a treat to hear him play 2 solos at the same time. Usually, a guitarist will play rhythm while soloing on the harmonica and vice versa. Not Gallagher...listen to his "Live in Europe" album. My one "regret" about these concerts.... Rory invited me backstage but I thought he was BS'ing so I didn't ask the club personnel to do so. I was probably too scared too. But.... I still have the guitar pick he gave me in my wallet... 34 years later.

ps- I did get to meet him in 1991 after another concert. What a really decent person and an AWESOME, AWESOME musician !!!

The best guitar player would be Pat Methany. The most memerable show would be SRV at Alpine Valley the night of the crash. Off the top of my head others would be:

Jeff Beck
Santana
EC
Buddy Guy
Greg Koch
Dickey Betts
Derek Trucks
Warren Haynes
Sam Mc Que
