Melissa by the Allman Bros is a popular song. It was featured in a movie I saw this past year "House of D" with Robin Williams.

Well , Leo Kottke (who did that tune,) always says his voice sounds like a goose fart on a muggy day.

If you don't want to sing try this one of his:

Well well well. Brad your a big fibber mate. You told me it could be thirty days plus.
It landed this morning. What a beauty. I dont know an awful lot about acoustic guitars. I've only ever had two, the one my sister was given and gave up on after ten minutes (I had to master a 12bar in E on it before I was allowed a electric). A ovation I was given that the neck joint had caved in on.

This things a real stunner. A nice full bass end and a toppy treble. Absolutely lovely. I'll be giving it a whirl through the P.A on saturday to try the electrics out.
The action and fret work is really good, really really good. I dont think my Hotrod was this good new. A very comfortable neck with suprise suprise, really good high end access. The neck seems to sit very comfortably in my hand. Kind of like a thicker tele neck but not excessively so. Sort of a big C strat neck.

I'm very very smitten. I cant find anything I dont like on this guitar, I'm a hard taskmaster. If I could fault it, I would. I just cant find a thing though. Right out the case, its great.

Thankyou so much. I really cant fully express my gratitude.

Nice case too, really sturdy. Off to give it a blast now.

She's a stunner NN! Congrats on winning it ... and the uber-speedy hookup!

A few humble suggestions ...

Bob Seger's Night Moves
Jim Croce's You Don't Mess Around With Jim.
Floyd's Comfortably Numb

Great way to start 2010. Congrats, we know you'll enjoy each others company. How about It's Alright -Traveling Wilburys? Should make you both sound good.

If your thinking of learning Tuesday's Gone, may I humbly suggest The Ballad of Curtis Lowe, a great song.

Remember the Bee Gee's tune Massachusetts?

Simon & Garfunkel's The Boxer?

Anything off the American Fool album (Jack and Diane?) by John Cougar (as he called himself).

Dan Fogelberg's Loose Ends has always been a favorite of mine and Scarecrow's Dream off the same album (Netherlands) is a moving tune.

Any country music? Johnny Paycheck's Take This Job And Shove It! Always a favorite amongst us retired folk.

OK well here goes.

Sweet home (do it with the band so its a easy pick and you can change the name to wherever you are)

Take this Job and shove it (the dead kennedys did a great version of it)

Norweigan wood. (everyone recognises it)

Like crying (great open tuning country blues)

Romeo and Juliet (edited without the boring solo. Same tuning as above)

Little red rooster (slide)

Back up to normal tuning for
Lazing on a sunny afternoon by the kinks.

Time to move to another pitch then.

Try and keep it to entertaining stuff that everyones heard before.

Some Seger? Against The Wind or Old Time Rock & Roll?
