Still believe in Anarchy? Im 40 years old and the punk scene of the early 80's was such a blast. I listen to all kinds of music but the good old punk rock from back in the day still gets me going. Listening to some GBH and Adicts tonight. Good times, good times.................

Only just stopped gigging that scene four years ago. Played alongside GBH, UKSubs, Vibrators, Peter and the Testtube Babies and Discharge among many others a good few times as a support act. Anti Nowhere Leaugue as headline.
(had to get that in cos their utter idiots)

The scenes dead in the Uk. Older bands are killing it demanding money like its 82 and not pulling a crowd. Were gonna end up with the yearly excursion to Blackpool for Rebellion/Wasted and thats it.

Look out for a good welsh band called Stuntface. After a spluttery start their finaly up and running. Good band really nice fella's too

I saw GBH a couple times. Saw Discharge when they came over when they were in their prime (hear nothing see nothing tour). Angelic upstarts came over here once too. I really liked the old British stuff. Listened to a lot of Oi stuff too.
Over here its gone way commercial and its main stream with big producers making it the music of the masses.

I grew up round the GBH lads, Drongo's for europe too. Hometown boys yknow.

GBH always do really well stateside. Last I heard Ross was living in Hawaii, Jock tried it but didnt like it. He missed the tenement blocks of Highgate

Bones from Discharge is a really nice bloke. If ever you get chance pull him over for a chat. Very down to earth the bloke that invented hardcore/thrash guitar.

Funny old world aint it.

Still love it, Still believe in the message. There are some really good punk bands out there (not mainstream crap). Love the old stuff, and the new hardcore.

niki , saw all of the above back in the day and a lot more , i was one of the few punks who went to motorhead gigs (long haired punks ) and listened to hendrix . this is bringing back some old memories , crass , anti pasti , vice squad, the fits (spent a nice few hours drinking in a transit van with them when i was 14 or there abouts :) ) and my fave band are the viberators , i used to let the guys in my class who were into zep and stuff hear them and they were like , this is a punk band :) anyway , power to old punks 8)
i like playing along to the old stranglers album rattus norvegicus on a regular basis :)

Rat from the Varukers was singing for Discharge last I heard.

Hey Alan what about the band no one ever dares to mention, The Exploited.

Rough old gang o lads they are.

I dont half miss the old scene, its more or less all gone now though.

I played with the SubHumans in Edinburugh, I also played at Rockers club on Midland street Glazgow. Thats a great place, all these pretty blondes in big boots keep bringing you drinks. Waitress service venue
AntiPasti are only 50 miles from me in Derby as are the alltime best band to support Xentrix. Brilliant lads them Xentrix, real punks, everythings split equal among the bands regardless who headlines. Fish has his own studio now and only charged £120 a day last I heard. He was getting EMG 81/89 sets for £50 a time too very cheap.

All the punk geezers are from Blighty?

Dayum.

I'm an old punk rocker. From the good ol' USA.

Anybody else still playing the punk rock? I do in my main band, my side bands play other things.

Brian the Wasted festival gets over to California I think. My moral terpitude of my youth prevents me from entering the country now. So theres no chance of me getting over. The Dead Kennedys are still going aren't they? Jeff Penalty singing for em last time I saw em.

See punk really took off in the UK, Spain, France and Italy. The fact is its an American export, one of the best. Certainly the most encompassing, its the one genre you can play any style it and pass it off ok.

BTW Brian did anyone ever tell you you bare a passing resemblance to this brilliant british comedian

Hint: Not the blonde one.

Heres a link to a download of my old bands last album. Just some snippets, If you like it buy it eh. I dont see any royalties anymore from it so have no problem advertizing it by any means neccessary.

You need winrar or a simiar program to decompress it.

The only political song on their is about Tony Blair's kowtowing to George Bush. Its anti Blair, not anti American.

Canada has always had a pretty good punk scene.

Even in some of my bar/cover band days we would try work some songs by SNFU, beyond possession or the Smalls into our set, along side the Zep and Clapton.
