Well, if you asked me if I believed in God, I'd probably say that I don't know. But, if you asked me if I believed in UFO's, I'd probably say yes.
I am superstitious, and I do believe in the unseen superpowers, and that everything is connected, and that everything happens for a reason. But, as far as for the UFO's, it's pure logic.

Interesting thread. 'Humbly suggest those interested read Dr. Carl Sagan's "Cosmos" to get an excellent overall view of the subject.

Distances out there are incredible, but then, a few centuries ago, most people did not go more than 30 miles from their place of birth, in their lives.

What is accepted everyday science today (computers and iPods and organ transplants and airplanes) would have been considered utterly impossible a century ago and the darkest or most spectacular magic a few or more centuries ago.

Likely, the multiverse is as much more complex to our current level of knowledge, as is our technological-electronic world is, from ancient Egypt.

So whether you look at it from Rodenberry-Star Trek's "future of Earth," Tolkein's magic-charged "Middle Earth," Lucas' Star Wars' "long ago in a galaxy far far away" or James Hood's "Adventure--Into The Neverland" parallel-reality point of view...

..."UFOs" and "extraterrestrials" and "alternate realities" take on different possibilities.

Personally, 'am enjoying the ride.

I think he said he and a friend had a close encounter. Pretty close to the time he talked about meeting the devil, and deciding not to sell his soul.

However, if they don't include Michael Schenker, they are a hoax.

Sorry, just joking. Vinnie Moore and Paul Chapman were quite capable guitarists.

Please tell me this isn't real:

http://www.ufoevidence.org/photographs/ ... oto416.htm

Whether ours or theirs this thing is booking.

The President couldn't find out more than we know because all the information is controlled by the military. Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter both tried to get info and got the same thing we get. Classified black lines:

http://www.wpafb.af.mil/questions/topic.asp?id=835

There used to be a recording of our astronauts encounter with a UFO here:

http://www.ufologie.net/sys/text.htm

You can find tons of UFO stuff all over the internet. It is the most researched topic besides porn.

What this has to do with guitars I don't know but I'm glad everyone has a well thought out opinion for or against the possibility.

I don't think any intelligent life form would reveal itself to a civilization that is still at war with itself.

In a convoluted way this topic came to mind when I saw a Roger McGuinn Rickenbacker for sale in a Vintage Guitar mag ad and thought of his 12 string lead break in Mr. Spaceman and the whole UFO thing popped into my head.So it is kind of guitar related.

I found out something really interesting today on the subject of aliens from Bill Bryson's "A short history of nearly everything". Apparently scientist believe that there's probably millions of planets in our galaxy alone with intelligent life. Even so, the nearest one of them would be over 200 light years away, so if by some freak miracle they were able to look at us with a telescope or something they'd be looking at us 200 years ago.So if there is intelligent like out there, they think the French are still revolting and everyone is wearing powdered wigs. There's something about that that i think is really cool.

As I said they'd have to be a nomadic space dwelling race or capable of time travel, if they have visited. Neither bodes well for us humans. A nomadic race would simply be on a harvest mission. A time travel capable race would dominate us without us even knowing it had happened. It would have always been. I cant for a second believe in any kind of benevolent extra terrestrial life form.

Here's an update on the UFO sighting on our south coast the other day and it's rather disturbing considering the authorities are remaining tight lipped on it.The French government acknowledged Thursday that they had test fired some missles "somewhere in the North Atlantic" since the French islands of St. Pierre and Miquelon are just a few miles off our coast it's not a stretch that the nuclear sub that fired these missles was in or very close to Canadian waters. What is particularly disturbing about this is that these waters are used by local fishermen and international shipping and what goes up has to come down. The Prime Minister isn't providing any answers because he has closed Parliment for no other reason but to escape scrutiny by other parties,he's starting to become a real autocrat.
