One of the most popular classic antiquarian books (entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1883 . . . my original hard copy is 1886). It is still still found printed and online. Many wood block prints and biographical sketches tell of European and American military leaders from Napoleon to Thomas J. Jackson.

It speaks of Royalty, Presidents, generals like Custer, and many whom you know, while others you have heard of if only to look around and find history and society has judged some of them differently over time.

The book:
Kings of the Battlefield.
W. Sanford Ramey

You’ll want to check it out, possibly for free as an e- book, on the Internet. Great for history buffs.

I am currently reading The Language of Flowers by Vanessa Diffenbaugh. A story about a young girl, Victoria, growing up in the foster care system and mistrusting everyone for all she has endured. Now at 18 and emancipated from the system, she helps others through the meaning/language of floral--a gift she learned as a young girl.

Plus a couple of days ago I finished reading Lakota America: A New History of Indigenous Power by Pekka Hamalainen. I really enjoyed it

I’m checking out lists of new and used clearance gear amongst Long & McQuade stores nationwide for sale on Friday and Saturday. Lots of good and so so stuff. I saw some gear that I had prior interest in . . . but the wrong colour, limited supply, typical sale price, or lesser shape than I would like comes with the territory. Still, with the right thing for the right person there can be deals to be made on a first come first served basis, so a little luck comes into it as well.
