Just finished "The Mysterious Island" by Jules Verne.

Rivetting account of 5 American castaways and a dog on a Pacific desert island. It was fantastic up until the last few chapters. I didn't like the inclusion of another Verne character from another novel in it at the end. Could have been better if he would have had a different ending and didn't use that other character. I don't want to spoil it so I am not saying who it was.

Now I have started another Jules Verne castaway novel called "Godfrey Morgan"

For me,this kinda ties in with the history thread. For the last week I've been reading "The Lost Book Of Enki" By (Zecharia Stichin). A translation of ancient Sumerion Tablets. Its a story about the origins of modern man. A little bit far fetched for some but a very exciting read. And very plausible. Now I'm starting another of his books. "The Twelfth Planet". A parallel story with a little different view of the same subject.

after reading this, I kind of get the phenomenon of "the next big thing", kind of get it, not like get it like "I can make this happen, because I understand completely how this happens", no it is a phenomenon, Memphis, Philidelphia, London, Detroit, New Orleans, Chicago, San Francisco, L.A., New York. Different places, different times, phenomenal.
