I'm looking for a copy of the book "Q" by Luther Blisett. Lately I've been kinda fascinated by movement to expose the masterminds behind the "Qanon" conspiracy. Personally I think the whole conspiracy is a steaming pile. From what I've read the way information has dropped closely resembles the plot of this book which was written by a group of Italian Anarchists in 1999.

I say better Italian Anarchists than German Nihilists.

Total Guitar's "THE COMPLETE GUIDE TO SONGWRITING"

Interesting read with advice and interviews from various artists, chords and timings, recording gear, The Beatles Masterclass, and more.

I’m back to reading more of the above book/mag. It’s an excellent read and definitely not boring. IMHO.

In fact I find this British publisher has many similar practical and useful magazines that are similarly related.

I just started on the June issue of "Premier Guitar." I'm so behind on keeping up with my magazine subscriptions. Well, at least I don't have to worry about not having anything to read for a while. :P

I have a solution. Sometimes, I’ll pick up the mag or book, and start a read from the front, put it down only to pick it up later; but, then like others in the world do, I thumb the pages from the back to the front even though it doesn’t read that way. I might not complete the book, and that’s okay. If I move on to another book I’ll have the feeling I did finish it. and then the process starts over again.

The problem with that silliness is that afterwards I mighty try to finish what I missed and discover I don’t remember where I left off. That means I have to begin again to get to where I should be.

Consequently, I have a lot of unread books in my bookcase.

It's all guitar and bass related stuff, so it's not like I have to follow some plot to a story line, but deal with potential GAS attacks. :P

You know, even as a 46 year old man, I still have an occasional urge to want to get some coloring books and crayons and color. :P As a kid, I used to love to get those giant boxes of crayons, color pencils, and markers for Christmas, or my birthday, besides the other stuff you like as a kid. I used to love to draw, and things like that. Before I became a musician, I wanted to be either a cartoonist, or maybe a writer. I also had an 1964 Remington typewriter one of my sisters gave me, which I used to like to mess with, as well. Bass just happened to be the best medium for artist expression for me. Blame that on hearing Led Zeppelin for the 1st time. :P

When I was a kid I had some pretty serious books. My father was a great artist in pencil and ink. We’d buy comic books, and he was savvy about the artists he liked, and he would teach me. I bought how to books, and a great recommended drawing kit (over 15 million sold) from Jon Gnagy (TV’s original art teacher). I dabbled a bit. From memory, I could draw Popeye, Goofy, and some resemblance of Rat Fink (my given name for a weekly scandalous but harmless fun tattle tale article in the school paper), but I didn’t have the talent I desired.

Consequently, I read comics into my 20s (as did some of my shipmates), and later I had 3 professional artists and set designers working for me, so I enjoyed their talent for which I had input. When I left two companies I had some big caricature cards presented to me and, hanging on the wall, I have a celluloid frame from one station’s barbershop character animation used for station ID. Did any of this help my drawing? Nope! But, I can paint a room.

That's pretty cool. 8) Before my sister moved from Florida, she told me that she found a box of my old comic books that I had when I was a kid and an early teenager. She was supposed to ship them to me, but she has yet to, and that's pretty much the only thing I have from my childhood. It's all stuff from the late 70's going into the mid 80's, and none of it was put into bags, or anything like that, since I didn't buy them to collect, just read. I'm just amazed they survived, being in a garage in Florida for at least 30 years, if not longer, but they were in a plastic storage container. I'm actually very curious to read these again, or at least look through them.

Ian Gillian biography (Deep Purple). The parts about Ritchie Blackmore are great!
