I'm reading two books at once. 1) Richard R. Smith's 'Fender - The Sound Heard 'Round The World', and 2) Tom Wheeler's 'The Fender Archives'. A lot of good information.

"The Soul of Tone" by Tom Wheeler
I couldn't think of a better 1st Fender book to read. After the receiving it today I'm in to the 177th page. Silly thing is I just realized that I should have been enjoying the CD tracks at the corresponding points in the book.
Gonna have to give the eyes a rest and give a listen while skimming the pages again.

Agree! Have that also. Wish there was more bass amp content. Very sparse & skimpy.

My old Kaypro service manual. Now that I have time, I going to see if I can get it to boot after spending the last nearly 25 years in a closet. Some may remember that the Kaypro and Osborne were the first portable (in loose terms) computers. Kaypros were amazing for their time and it would be cool to get it working again.

I loved the luggables! I remember playing Zork on an Osborne 1. And now we're back to screens that small again, on our smartphones. Perhaps I should find a Z-code emulator and load up Zork.

Currently reading Alice Sheldon:

I'm just into the second half of Analog Man's Guide To Vintage Effects by Tom Hughes. Very cool. Has color pics of old effects I'll probably never see. Very interesting . . . if you like stompboxes.

A Wizard, A True Star - This is a bio on Todd Rundgren, with a strong focus on his studio work as a producer of albums for bands like Grand Funk, XTC, The Band, The Tubes, and so on.

A great read that I just devoured. So much of the pioneering work that Todd and other producers did in the 70s and 80s has been turned on it's head as technology has evolved.

But this is a GREAT read.
