So, do you really need to have ridiculously high action when you tune this low. I can't find any real info on what artists who use this tuning (Slipknot, Sevendust) set theirs to...personal opinion aside.

I normally adjust the saddles (the part with the phillips head) it slackens the strings allowing lower tunings (I play in drop d down a half step)

Yeah, that's adjusting the action. I'm just looking for an actual measurement. For instance, a typical (though somewhat high) action might be 2.0mm on the bass side and 1.5mm on the treble side. I'm wondering what the pro's use for these heights...
