Yesterday I pulled out and dusted off my old 1965 blackface Fender Deluxe for the first time in a really long time -- just moved to a new home recently and finally have an actual space to play again, so I've been pulling out some of the stuff I haven't used in a while. Strapped on a made-in-Japan Strat® and ran it through a Fender reissue reverb unit, using Fender instrument cables of course -- just straight through the amp and nothing else. Sounded amazing and I couldn't put the guitar down! It dawned on me somewhere in there that *everything* in the rig I was playing carried the Fender name ... a moment of total career satisfaction. :-)

Fender products are the reason there are so many Fender players...I've tried more basses over the past 4 decades than I can count, but the one that lives with me has always been a Fender.

Wow, very well stated! I might forward that comment along to our bass guy, I'm sure it'd make his day. :-)

If that was the case, I would say give it to me, I would dirve over and pick it up and you wouldn't even have to ship it. ;)

I'll bet that '65 DR sounds as good as new too. 8)

This one's actually the less common non-reverb model -- a '65 Deluxe. Hence the RI reverb unit I ran in front of it. But anyway, yes ... it sounds AMAZING!

Brad,

I would love to be in your shoes right now. You have to have the best job in the world. NAMM, working for Fender, and an awesome band. Keep on enjoying "career satisification". Keep up the good work.

I got the same Fender buzz, when I rediscovered my Blues Junior. I had been using my spider jam constantly, over the past 6 months or more. I was just blown away, I still am 8) It's a difficult feeling to put into words, but I'm sure everyone here knows it well
