yeah, i like mesa's but they were always way too bassy for my tastes.

Probably why i like my Twin so much

Compact and very cool looking, not for me though. Great demo on the first youtube link, that Strat sounded pretty good.

I like the extra bass… I don’t think there is really more bass that a lot of amps as much as I believe there is less mid range frequencies in the Mesa amps. This makes them sound more bassy then most… from the video it did not sound like this was the case for the new lunchbox sized amp however you loose so much in a video…only way to tell is a personal test drive.. most of the small amps sound very good and are big sellers on the market these days and the new Mesa seems to have a lot more options than a lot of the lunchboxes……Yet another option for musicians looking for low watt nitch amp for home use, recording, and gigging small venues.. well have to see how the market responds to the addition..

Cheers
Bill

Its a nice little head, but for $899 I'll pass and keep shopping for a Hot Rod Deluxe.

Very nice; however, lately I've been looking at Hayden.
For an all purposes amp, for me the Blues Junior is just what the doctor ordered.

My Rebel 20 gets a lot of the same sounds. It's a nice head and remember, you get what you pay for. I would take the Tiny Terror, Night Train or Egnater, DRRI, SRRI or Bassman over the HRDlx any day of the week.

All true! but I have the head and cab rig covered. what I need is a portable tube combo. Given the choice of all of the above I'd take the DRRI, but its a little large for use as a portable jam amp.

The DDRI is a fabulous amp. Its been there done that and definitely delivers………I just think it is way over priced for what it really is…because it is a reissue they charge extra it seems…….love to have one but unless I found one used at a good price I just wont do it.

DDRI too large?.....really……..there not that big

Weight wise its probably comparable with the DLX wieghing in around 40lbs. but the DDRI Is taller and wider (though somewhat thinner). Dont get me wrong, I LOVE the DDRI and would snatch one up in a sec if I could find a mint used one with a good price, but i'd rather have to tote the DLX.

DDRI:

•24-1/2"W x 17-1/2"H x 9-1/2"D
•42 lbs.

DLX:

•23-1/2"W x 18-3/4"H x 10-1/2"D
•45 lb.

OK, so at the expense of making myself look foolish. I looked up the specs on both the DDRI and the DLX (see above) and it seems there is little difference between the two weight or deminsion wise. Still, the price is a lot to swallow.

Edit for spelling
