Ever since I retired from the Air Force, I've grown my hair as long as I can get away with--but nothing like Eric's 'do in this ad. For most us, Claptonesque locks would result less in coolness and more in joblessness!

True. He can get away with it because of his rock star status, most guys older than 25 can't.

Funny thing about Claptons hair, I thought it looked perfectly normal, but then I was in High School for Journeyman so it was what i was used to. The Color of Money had been out a couple years and he had already dome his Michaelob commercial. That Hair was Clapton, everything else looked weird to me, especially that Strange Brew Anglo-Afro.

Kinda reminds me of when an Older Player that was showing me my scales and we started to discuss Layla and Clapton. He said, "This was before he had his famous guitar."

I said, "Right, that Gun Metal Grey one."

Of course he meant Blackie, but I thought that was just a guitar he used on the Last Waltz. I grew up on 461 Ocean Blvd and Cream, I didn't know his Black Strat was so popular. I thought SG and Gun Metal Grey Strat, I didn't even know he had used a tele on 461 ocean Blvd yet.

Besides, he had used a Red one on Clapton and Griend just a couple years before Journeyman.

BTW, Journeyman is in my top 5 Clapton Albums.

461 Ocean Blvd
Disraeli Gears
Journeyman
Slowhand
Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs

Looking somewhat similar to his old-school Journeyman days, "Ol' Slow Hand" wore a suit jacket with jeans and had grown his hair to his trademark style of the aforementioned era. The multicoloured guitar strap he had acquired for his Daphne Blue mojo resembles very much to the Gianni Versace stuff he used during this particular period.

His glasses and the smiling shaven face behind the vintage tweed '57 Twin amplifier are the most distinctive highlights.
