Loved the commercial and the phone looks really cool. It is great that the Fender name carries the weight it does. Even people who dont play know Fender =guitars.

Nope, she hasn't seen either of those videos. I have both of them, but she's never watched them.

When I went to ask about the phone at the T-Mobile store, the guy working there didn't know anything about it so he was trying to look it up on the computer and he asked me if it was the Zombie Fender. I said I don't think so I just heard it was the Fender MyTouch 3g, and he says the only thing he sees is the Zombie Fender, so I peer over the counter and see he has some thing picked called the Zombie Finder lol. Which I guess you could read as Fin-der, so I had to tell him how it was spelled and that it was a guitar company.

I've just watched the O2 concerts with El Becko on YouTube.

I've noticed that EC got a brand-new multicoloured guitar strap for his cherished daphne blue baby.

It appears that Clapton decided to return to his old-school "journeyman/24 nights/Knebworth" roots after 20 years ago, hence the reason for which his hair had grown so long.

This particular look reminds me very much the "Rock in Chile" concert at the Estadio Nacional of Santiago in September 29th, 1990, with the glasses and a navy blue jacket highlighting his overall appeal.

Here's a nice shot of Eric during an interview with Ferrari's chairman Stefano Domenicali:

...and the man himself during the National Stadium concert 20 years earlier:

I totally agree!

Clapton is definitely much better with short hair!

It's not a Showmaster, but an American Deluxe HSS QMT in 3-colour sunburst.

The Showmaster has sleeker horns and body shapes with scraped edges and a carved maple top. It also feature a Floyd Rose locking tremolo bridge.

The American Deluxe HSS QMT and FMT had a recessed jackplate and a normal 2-point bridge. Only very few of these guitars were offered with the deluxe locking bridge assembly.

I must admit I haven't read the previous posts here. What I couldn't help think while watching was what does his fingers look like. What does the fingers of a guitar god look like when they're old. Okay, vintage, not old. It fascinates me.

I really dislike the long hair over a shaven face. I would be very glad if Clapton goes back to his good old cropped "Yardbirds-era" hairstyle.

EC has a longer hair during his 2008 Summer American and British tours, but he brought back his early-mid 1950s cropped hairstyling for the European tours (Scandinavia, Iceland, Switzerland, Poland, Germany, Monaco).

I think Clapton's decision to return to his Journeyman roots is purely personal.

Depending the tastes, the "Journeyman"-era styling is by all points the worst of all Clapton hair and facial styles. In my personal opinion, the cropped hair and the shaven face makes for a better feeling.

This is funny, a bunch of guys talking about Clapton's hair. :P

For what it's worth, long hair = coolness. 8)

It's so fun to see Clapton going back almost 20 years ago! :D

My personal opinion is that he will probably return to his "normal" hairstyle for his upcoming US tour this spring.

My only gripe is that EC changes his personal appeal constantly and it's so hard to recognize him.

Thanks for the feminine perspective, TGS! :)

Ever since I retired from the Air Force, I've grown my hair as long as I can get away with--but nothing like Eric's 'do in this ad. For most us, Claptonesque locks would result less in coolness and more in joblessness!
