Well we stuck with old name a couple guys used in early 70's for different reasons than now, since were OLDER. Kind of a bummer that there are 4 or 5 others with same name. anyway, you would think after playin' out with other bands and various jams I would be more comfortable about tonight. can't get rid of butterflies in stomach. Been together 5 months, 4 hours a week practice due to work, family, etc.,. Going to warehouse to break-down and set-up at gig. Playin' tonite 8:30pm on the bar side of St. Michaels Hall, thats a first for me? 25 elmwood ave. lynn, ma. 01905, no cover. for any locals that don't have any plans tonight, would love to see you there. I like constructive critizism. Band name is "blurred vision". have a great weekend, dutch.

Good luck Dutch, I'm sure you'll be fine. I played in front of people at festivals and large venues in my younger days and never had a problem. Then I stepped back a while and then got back into it. The first couple times were rough, but after that it all clicks and still does. I've been jamming with some brand new people I met through a harp player I met through open mic nights. Now we're talking about getting something together for fun and profit.

It's all good and it's all fun again. To think I made a half decent living at this a while back. So who knows.

The biggest thing is have fun.

I am always wound up before a gig, I mean just the few hours before. Besides playing bass and sharing alot of singing duties I am the one that put together our PA system, and the only one that really knows what's what. I managed to get the other three to match their mic cords to the labelled channels but that's about it.

So until we finish the third or fourth song and things are dialed in nicely I am always wound up.

I think it's natural to be a little nervous anytime you perform, you go from practice where it's all arrangements and learning to a gig where you take all those things and add trying to be entertaining. If you've been out of the loop for awhile like you say than it'll just take a couple.

Have a good time, try to relax and tell us all about it on Monday. We have a gig tomorrow so if the weather doesn't turn to crap like they say it should be a good time. We can swap stories later. 8)

Good Luck Dutch,go out and dazzle 'em,the butterflies etc. are all part of early days, some people always get them before a gig but generally they fade as the band gets tighter.

Thanks guys, a few mistakes, did well on recovery, thank god most people didn't notice. We had the place rockin' !!! alot of good feed back from crowd, dancing, singing along and cheers. Good mix in the crowd ranging from 21 to 51 years, guess you can't go wrong as most love classic hits. set list was in this order... original intro tune that leads into can't get enough, can't stand it, long train running, drive (modified cars song, faster upbeat), the thrill is gone, one way out, mary had a little lamb (SRV), all along the watch tower, original stevie sing the blues, can't you see, I shot the sheriff, johnnie b good, keep on smiling, badge, pride n' joy, some kind of wonderful, knockin' on heavens door, sweet home alabama (mixed original into kid rock version, all summer long,, back into original), honky tonk woman, where did our love go (j.geils version), call me the breeze, I need to know, I'll take you there. I had a blast, thanks for the incourgement and well wishes. dutch :D bar side of hall made a killing, and want us back!!! :D :D :D

Good stuff I knew you could do it.A good 1st impression makes the world of difference as it boosts the band's confidence and the word of mouth network gets the positive feed back spread around, hope you have many more great shows.P.S. Great set list, something for everyone, that's half the battle.
