well Saturday i've got a girl that i like comin' over. I'm a little nervous about her comin' over because well, I don't do well around girlss i always get nervous and tongue tied. She's bringing over her guitar too, so i said ill teach her some chords. Any advice i could would be helpful so i dont make a fool of myself and blow it. I would really like to start a relationship with her, but i dont want to come on strong and what not, i prob wont because im too nervous, oh man. See, i've never had a girlfriend before, so i kinda dont know how to act, i mean i know the obvious opening doors and being a gentleman but is there anything else i should know? Boy look at me rant haha oh man....

if you really like her, pick a love song to teach her that makes you think about her...she will dig it when you are singing it to her and just tell her, "well this song makes me think about you"...from there you are golden

Ceri, wise beyond your years Bro...

Haha - thanks man! Sadly, I may have more years under my belt than you think - sometimes I wish I was still at stryder's stage. But then sometimes I thank goodness I'm sitting here in middle age with this ring on my finger and no longer have worry about these kinda things...

 - C

+1 to that. I would not want to be young and single.

thanks for all the tips guys, she just left so i figured id tell you all how it went. It went really really good. I taught her some chords, played her a song or two, and we watched a movie. I wasnt as nervous as i thought i would be. All in all it went really well and hopefully we'll be hanging out again sometime soon. Once again, thank you all for the help, you guys really did help calm my nerves a bit. You guys are swell

Well, I hope your visit is going well....it's evening now, so I guess you're teaching her guitar. I'm adding my 2cents to some of the great advice you have already rec'd here:

I agree with: breathe, don't spill anything on her, JUST BE YOURSELF, and as C said, don't reach around etc.....and, do not tell her she is fat. If you offer her a beverage and for example, dessert, such as cake or ice cream, do not try to be helpful by saying......something like, "would you like some ice cream, oh, uh, are you on a diet?" Just b/c you think most women are on diets......we are not all on diets, and just offer the ice cream, don't worry about if she's on a diet, or not on a diet, DO NOT MENTION THE WORD DIET....I guess is the lesson there LOL.
Seriously, --briefly said: 1. Breathe, 2. Be yourself 3. Have fun, relax, and if you start to get nervous, remember, she is probably a bit nervous too, and just make believe you're with one of your good buddy guy friends.
And, lastly, no one was born having a dozen dates under their belt.....EVERY ONE WHO HAS DATED HAS HAD TO EXPERIENCE A FIRST DATE, no matter who he or she is.....Rock Star or someday maybe Rock Star :) ;)
