I'm a teacher at my school, and we had to come up with an idea for an auction basket. Of course, I gave an idea to the kids to have a Rock and Roll basket.

It's going well.

We've got cd-rs and jewel cases, gift certificates for itunes, best buy, and guitar center, tons of cds, a rock band boxer shorts LOL, camp rock accessories pack, a guitar stand with a dvd/book, and they gave me a butt load of cash to go shopping, so I got from a mom and pop music store called Allegro music:
boss distortion pedal and an adapter, beatles pics, drumsticks, Ernie ball strings, strap, amp cord, and they donated a gift certificate for two free music lessons.

Just wanted to share. It looks cool. :D

That is really cool! How about a picture of the basket just before it gets auctioned off and maybe a pic of the winner with the basket after.

That is so cool. I wish I had a teacher that was cool like that when I was in school. I agree with CAFeathers, love to see pics.

That's a great idea and what I'd call thinking outside the basket.

Sure thing! Well, you have to be there for the silent auction to put your bid on the basket. All proceeds go to our school. We're in Illinois. I'm a bit leary putting the addy up because of dealing with minors and all, and I don't want to get in trouble.

I'll sneak some pics tomorrow. :D

PS--got some money from the kids who hadn't donated items yet, so I got a strap that was made in Chicago and an amp cable.

PS--I know you have to buy a ticket to get in. It's a bit steep since we're a catholic school (had to sneak in a skull and crossbones strap though being the  that I am). I'll see where it is so if anyone is interested you can let me know. Maybe an email thing or something.
