Berklee doesn't automatically turn you down for a mere 2 D's. When it comes to college the name of the game is GPA and SATs.

Ps. I dont think people get accepted to community college, its more of a question of will you pay or not. If you've got cash you've been accepted.

the moral of the story is, work hard in school, but dont sweat the crap....also dont believe everything your parents say... they are real people and make real mistakes.

Like vjcor said its all about the gpa, sat and act, 2'Ds dont matter when colleges look at you unless you continue to get those d's and they affect your gpa.
you will do just fine. you just got to work at it.
if you dont mind me asking what you are working on in algebra right now? i might remember a few things from when i took algebra in 7th grade.

but remember that algebra is going to be applied in math from geometry and up so dont forget it. you will use basic equations and such in all levels of math. once you hit geometry you will spend alot of time reliving algebra by reusing slopeformula , midpoint and distance formulas all year. just keep at it and you will get through it.

good luck :D

Alright, I just made up with my mom. We hugged and I explained to her why I hugged her. She then told me how she was the only person in the world who loves me to the extent that she does, but how she won't be there to hold my hand and push me to get things done. She said that I'm 14 and I'm on my own now, but you will always have my full support, and you can come to me any time if you need any tools to help you.

We hugged again and she said, "You know I'd walk through fire for you...." and kissed me.

Yep.
It's all good again. :P

Yeah, reading both of you guys' thoughts really calms me down about this whole thing. It IS only 2 Ds. :P I shouldn't let that be my excuse, though. This is the most opportune time for me to knab this thing in the arse while I still can.

In Algebra, we've just finished Chapter 5 and the last subject we worked on was Slops of Parallel and Perpendicular Lines. In chapter 5, we've also covered subjects such as slopeintercept form, pointslope form, linear functions, direct variations, and rate of change.

That's also what our algebra teacher has been telling us: "Don't forget this stuff, because you'll need it throughout the rest of your high school years!" :P

And thank you for your kind words of encouragement. I really appreciate it. :D

It was no secret to you that you were getting sub-par grades in Alegebra, was it? You likely knew a while back you needed to work harder, but maybe you didn't?? Hmmmm???

Remember this always: Nothing good comes easy or free

Ariana,
When my son was having problems in Algebra, we found him an incredible tutor who taught at the local community college. She was an incredible math teacher who made it easy for Michael to understand and he ended up with a B+. She wouldn't let us pay her because I taught both her sons in my history classes. You may want to take a look for one also. Sometimes the local community colleges have students looking to make some extra money, or maybe you can trade guitar lessons for math tutoring. It's worth a try to check it out.
Serge
(unfortunately, Phyllis, the tutor, passed away this year of diabetes; she was much too young   )

Khas,

I was concerned you were down and out about how things are going, and as I read on I had a smile that things went into perspective for you.

Dont give up whatever you do. If you ever feel the need to talk to anyone about anything at all- your Fender Forum friends wont back down on you no matter what. We are here to support you if you ever need the help. :P

We want you to shine and be the best that you could possibly be ;)

Peace out 8)

Kas i think your mom has the right idea. Just be sure to let her know that you want to continue the guitar lessons as soon as your school studies get back up. Just think of it this way, Your education will be what determines your livelyhood when you are out on your own as an adult. If you feel that playing guitar is your career choice for sure then you could always forget Berklee and follow suit in another music oriented college. I hope the best for you and wish you luck.
