Gretsch's are cool and play very nicely. I've actually played Slipknot songs on my buddy's electromatic with pretty amazing results (I spent some quality time adjusting my amp to get the sound right). Gretschs are fun and real lookers. Buy one and enjoy.

I hear you man, I want a Godin 5th Ave so bad I can't stand it!

I was like that until I got an Ibanez AF95.

I prefer it to the Godin--but I still wouldn't mind a 5th Avenue.
Especially the new ones with the cutaway and the two pickups.

But I am content with what I have.

Add me to the Orange 5120 list. I tried one at Guitar Center three years ago and it had to come home with me. Here's a pic of it catching some sun, flanked by a '72 Thinline Tele Reissue and a Gibson ES-339.

Thanks, man. Had to have all those different tone bases covered. GAS works in mysterious ways. :)

What is UP with this GAS stuff????!!! It really IS a serious disease!!! I got 2 guitars recently and said, "Alright, now I'm set for life; I don't need any other guitars ever." And I really don't. But of course I WANT more, just to check out different stuff.

Problem is, I don't wanna give up the ones I have and I can't afford all of them!! It's a DISEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HEEEEEEELLLLLPP!!! :o

found a video of Gilmour and Bob Geldof doing Comfortably Numb. I think DG is using a Gretsch for the solos

As for GAS, yes, it is a terrible disease, but at least it's fun and it only affects the wallet

Sure does look like a Gretsch! Although there seems to be alot of letters on the headstock. May just be me.

It certainly looks like a vintage Gretsch Duo Jet to me. The Bigsby, the thumbnail fret markers...

I owned an Electromatic Pro Jet for a while. It had mini-humbuckers that didn't quite cut it for me long term. The Duo Jet's another beast altogether and it's priced accordingly. :)
