Im looking for a new delay pedal. My price range is about $120. Any suggestions?
I'm also in need of a tube amp. Price range is about $300. I know i can't get a good one on this budget but any suggestions?

That may sound harsh but it is given with only the best of intentions. My suggestion is to take your two budgets and combine them into one. Then keep saving until you can afford at least twice that new budget and buy a real amp.

However; should you choose to ignore the great advice posted above, check out the Blackheart amp series. Decent bang for the buck!

Yes the Blackheart/Crate amps are a good value for the money, for the delay, I use the Boss dd-5

Good Luck in your hunt,

Bill

The best delays are the MXR Carbon Copy's and the Electro harmonix memory mans.

Really are good.

However For $300 your not going to get much of an amp.

However, if you put both prices together you can get a Super Champ XD. Its got effects (Including Delay) and it sounds pretty good.

However if you are wanting them seperate, id suggest a MXR Carbon Copy and get a Champion-600. great little amp. really is.

Or go used and scour ebay or craigslist.
$300 = used Peavey Classic 30 (it is a REAL amp)
<$120 = just about any non-boutique used delay, including the Carbon Copy mentioned above.
And you might have a few bucks leftover for beer, or guitar strings, or whatever....

If you buy used you can get a nice amp. I got my USA Peavey Classic 50 for 250 used

+2 on the Carbon Copy

I bought mine about a year ago. However, I had to send it in to Dunlop three times for repair. I would plug it in and the main LED would not come on and the through signal was dead. Apparrently, there was an issue with static charges from a carpet or some such that kept blowing the input/output FET transistors. The last time I sent it in, Jim Dunlop himself took a personal interest in solving the problem. This ended up becoming an engineering change order that was incorporated in any future manufactured Carbon Copy pedals. As I understand it, they retrofitted a couple diodes at the input and outputs to shunt voltage spikes to ground.

I've had it back for several months now and have had zero problems with it.

The Carbon Copy has an excellent, clean sound with superb analog delays that work well with my Tube Screamer and Boss Chorus connected to a Fender Blues Jr NOS. There is also another circuit in the pedal that provides a little bit of modulation that is failrly pleasing to the ear. This can be turned off if desired. Also, the modulation can be adjusted to be more or less. I haven't experimented with this as it sound just fine just as it is.

All may not be lost, you may still be able to have the best of both worlds.By combining your money you may be able to buy a good used amp with a built in delay such as some of the Vox and Marshall amps with built in effects, although they may not be tube they pretty well capture the tube tone, moreso than some others.Anyway it may be worth checking out.

I'm gigging every weekend with a Marshall MG250DFX bought new for less than $400 (you can find them used for $200), and the amp has some great delay, flanger, chorus and reverb built in, plus the Marshall tone is real close to a tube sound for a solid state amp. I've even gotton kudos from other players about how clear and clean the clean channel is too.

yeah, for ss, the 250 marshall sounds really good (also it is a stereo amp!)
anyways,, if I were in the market right now with a tight budget- i would buy a used classic 30 and then save to get a MXR carbon copy (warmer delay than a dd6-depending what u need it for)

medium budget - DRRI with an OCD pedal and an MXR carbon copy
used DRRI = $600-900

good luck bro
