I just couldn't resist a new guitar... Nothing too fancy, it's a Cort Source. I've read some good things about them and the one with the satin sunburst and aged hardware looked pretty sweet. For $400 it's way cheaper than a Gibson ES 335 and the quality seemed better than the Epiphone Dot. Guess I'll find out when it gets here!

Yeah, I'm pretty stoked! I'll get some pics of the actual guitar when it comes, but here's what'll look like. Never had a semi-hollowbody before.

Cool! There's a guitar shop around here that has one. I've played it and I liked it quite a bit. :)

Cool. Someone wanted to trade me a Cort Yorktown for my 1985 Fender MIJ Strat, but I just couldn't do it. The Cort looked nice, but I just didn't know much about them.

I've had a few Cort's in my days. They make a decent well priced guitar. Plan on having the nut cut properly once you get her. They won't spend a great deal of time getting that correct and that will add to your tuning issues which you will naturally blame on the cheap tuners that the guitar will come with. That's not usually the case because a poorly cut nut will add more to tuning problems then tuners. But if they are really inexpensive tuners, invest in some Sperzels unless you're not interested in changing the relic look of that cool looking guitar. I am sure you can retrofit some similar higher quality tuners.

Pickups on the Cort's that I have had have been ok. All of that is up to your ear and your playing ability. But if you wanted to upgrade, the first step would be to change the pots. If the spacing is the same as a 335 you can get a prewired setup from Mojo Toneworks. It's takes a little work, but you can improve the tone immediately by upgrading the cheap pots in there to nicer electronics. And what the heck, once you have everything off of it, just swap out those pups for the aftermarket of your choice. Then you're done. You'll have a great guitar that sounds awesome for a fraction of the cost of the real deal. Even better than an Epiphone version for that matter. Good Luck, nice looking fiddle.
