The thread on the Marshall Class5 has me dragging the Vintage 5 out to the big room today. No comparison between the Bugera and the Marshall I guess... and there shouldn't be for the money they get.

Being a noob, I'll just plug my MIM into the Chinese amp and sit there fat, dumb, and happy listening to the nice tones. 8)

You've all no doubt heard " The Three Tenors" perform at some point, well tonight it was the turn of "The Three Tele's" I've been recording with them this evening, with my spider jam and backing tracks. I've learned a lot tonight, some of the looping turned out great :D It's midnight here now, so I'll finish up for the day. I'm going to do some more tomorrow, after a work out with the tube amps

Uh... the Powerhouse Strat into the Behringer 210.

Seems like too darn many choices but have found a couple of settings I like. Some things just sound awful... like "auto-wah". :?

It does "clean" and assorted echo/reverb pretty well with tweed or British amp models, clean mode (no gain), and U.S. speaker selected. And with no effects I can get a little bit of grit with the British model. Add hi-gain or hot and you get REAL LOUD... but at the price of a lot of hiss.

But... for a very cheap amp, I can't complain. I'm happy with it as a good starter amp. There's no way it will do everything well for the price point it sells at. 8)

Why do I feel like I need another guitar already? BTW... what does "GAS" stand for?

I haven't been able to play for a while, so it was wonderful to get to play today for quite a while ...

I started with the Squier thinline Tele. That guitar is the one I pickup when I play unamplified. Being semi-acoustic, it is really great for that. But when I plug it in with some high gain tone, it always seems to shock me how well it sings with a completely-different-than-the rest-of-the-bunch tone. It does have real Fender MIA Tele pups in it, and I really think that was a great mod.

After that, I brought out the bad-boy black SSS Fender Strat. I really wanted to explore with the tonal possibilities of new Digitech RP350 multi-effects unit. I had been using the Digitech's modeled Marshall tone (but only lightly overdriven) into my Line 6 head which set for full gain. That had been a very nice rich combo ... very sweet bell tones with sustain for days. But just to experiment further with the Digitech, I turned off the modeled Marshall entirely and added the modeled TS808 and some compression. Holy moly, that sounded good, too. And I mean really good. Lots of growl, the sustain intact, and very controllable. Even the harshest solid-state critic out there would have been smiling. Man, we be rockin' with tone tonite ...

I played my '88 Oly white Strat at band practice, today. It had been in dire need of new Pick Ups and a set up for some time. Last week I put in some Lace Sensors, just put some new String Screw Clamps on and it's ready for Gig this weekend at the Ski Resort (Snow Summit, in Big Bear Ca.).

:D 8)
