Thanks for the links, I've always been big fan. I played in a Chicago cover band for two years in the 70's, so I'm very familiar with his playing and material. After he died, I more or less stopped listening to Chicago.

Just watched end sequence of "Elektra glide in blue" seen the film when it first came out, didn't know of Terry Kath back then or that he sang the song Tell Me, but thats an ending that will stay in your head

He was a true talent that died way to young and possesd amazing chops besides not playing the normal lines of the era. Once he died Chicago lost that gritty edge and became rather sappy. Would of loved to see what they would of been turning out if he lived as they were a very talented band who turned into a hit machine.

Why all of the Terry Kath love all of a sudden?

Oh, I guess the anniversary of his tragic death is almost upon us.

I did love his playing, but the only solo that really sticks in my mind is that in "25 or 6 to 4." That was a true Wah Classic.

A buddy and I were talking about Kath the other day and he wouldn't belive me when I said Kath was there through "Chicago XI." He assumed Kath must have died before them because those last couple of albums were getting pretty weak.

The "Live in Japan" album from around '75 has some of his best playing, imo.
