The Wolfgang...well it plays like butter, but the JEM screams!!! So many new tones! Both are welcomed additions to the herd. :D

Thumbs I must of missed when you said you were getting new additions.Great choices as I am a Wolfgang fanatic. The asymmetrical neck is probably the most comfortable neck there is. I dont have a Jem, though I would like to add one to the herd. Outside of my Fenders the only guitars I own are Wolfgngs and a couple of EBMM EVHs for that Humbucker tone and simply because I love them.lol Though I did get an EBMM Petrucci this year which is an amazing ax but the neck is just to thin for me and I was going to sell it but my son confiscated it.

I really like the guitars EBMM are producing these days and it may sound like blasphemy but I think they are working with some amazing talent and probably producing the hottest guitars today. I mean that in the sense they are not biting off any old Fender or Gibson designs and doing there own thing. I would love for Fender to start working with some great players that they would let come up with there own concepts and not just a tweaked Strat or Tele. I am starting to believe if you work with Fender and put out an artist ax it has to be a Strat or Tele. But if I was running the show believe me I would free some players up to design something fresh. All you have to do is look what EBMM has produced in the last 18 years starting with the EVH, The Luke, The Albert Lee, The Steve Morse, The Petrucci and there all original. The proof is in the pudding, and there are still amazing players out there who Fender can work with to come up with some fresh ideas.

Nothing will ever take the place of a Strat or Tele as first options but it is 2010 and it would be nice to see something totally outside the box that says Fender on it.

Haha, I am digging that monkey handle. If I ever get super serious about sweeping, that's the guitar I'll be getting. :]

Thanks for the kind words ya'll! I'm extremely proud to have both guitars in my stable. It's a real struggle to decide which to play

I spent some quality time with the JEM last night and have to say that it is a well built guitar! The neck is supremely comfortable, action is low and fast. The pups just WAIL! I had to raise the single coil a bit cause the output is very low, but the buckers are hot! So many combinations to be had with its pup set up. I've never been a huge Ibanez fan, but the JEM is a well designed, well built guitar!

@ Straycat. I had been in the market for a Wolfgang for a good while now (see my, "serious delima" thread), but was determined to get a good price on the right guitar (I had ideally wanted the green QMT, but price prevented this). This guitar also impressed me with its distorted tones, and does really well clean too. It's a good bit warmer than my strat when played clean (though it will never compete with my strat in the area of blues tones). I also like the D-tuna feature which makes switching to drop D literally a snap! I wish I could say mine is a EBMM (mine is a Peavey model), I believe from having demo'd both the EBMM and the Peavey models, that the EBMM is a notch above Peavey. But again, price was an issue.

In summary, I cant say enough good things about either guitar! They both have their strong points and thus their own unique place in my "tool box".
