If I had to pick one - Charlie Christian. He crossed a number of boundaries: black playing in front of a white audience, use of a guitar in big band/popular music as a lead/soloist instrument and even a foray into country music. He had much to do with modern jazz styles but that also led to inclusion of jazz and blues influences in pop music, rock, etc.

I would have to say Hendrix. There was just something God like about him to me when I was a kid. Like you think this guy is not human.

Someone mentioned Jason Becker and if there are guys out there who do not know who he is check up on him. A sadder story you will not find, and boy that kid had amazing talent at such a young age.

In no particular order; Eric Clapton , Jeff Beck , Jimmy Page , David Gilmour , George Harrison , Ritchie Blackmore , Gary Moore , Robert Johnson.... 8)

On a good night John Norum ain't that bad... :!:

If only one shot i'd go with Peter Green any day - especially when he plays a Stratocaster - which he seems to do most of the time nowadays

And there's always some really great stuff going on with Doctor May..

Did i forget CHRIS REA ? Oh my , what a fantastic player .
