If I had to pick just one it would be a hard decision but I'd have to say Jimi Hendrix. There's people who are better technically than he was but to me he just made the guitar an extension of himself. His blues playing is my favorite, Red House is a song I could have on repeat for years and not get tired of. There's so many talented people past and present that should be addressed but to me there is Jimi and everyone else. The funny thing is that I was anti Jimi for quite a while back in high school because it felt like people who you knew didn't even hear a song of his would quickly refer to him as the greatest. One day I went out and bought Axis Bold as Love and Are You Experienced and just listened to them back to back and I was blown away. Now being a player myself (I mean that in the most modest way) I can only appreciate him and everyone else that much more.

I'd have to say that Hendrix is my guitar hero. The more I play the more I admire many different artists however.

I'm probably the only one in this forum but...

ANGUS YOUNG!!!

I know he's not "the best" but i just like his style of hard rock/bluesy playing. My style is probably closest to his than anyone else's.
