The name says it all...
The guy you go to when you want a bucket,
on a head.

If you want something else, you need a different guy.

I was trying to post here when my computer crashed. There is a video of BH in a shred contest (no effects) on youtube(probably in Europe) which when compared to others ( I won't mention any names) shows how fluid his playing is.

Also if you dismiss BH then you are also dismissing Paul Gilbert (his teacher).

Remember the 80's? No shred no hit.

It's coming back and girls are doing it better(Orianthi).

Nah, I'm trying to forget the 80's - the decade when hairdressers ruled the earth. No poodle perm no hit.
Plenty of hits in that decade were shred free anyway.

Well, any shedder would tell you start with rythm first anyway and forget about speed. But curiosity is a very powerful thing. How do they do it? I still haven't figured it out but it's fun to try.

You are right there are a lot of great songs without shreds.

Okay, just to dispell the myth that all he does is shred... Even my grandmother loves his mellow stuff. Take a listen;

In fact, nearly half of his output contains no shred whatsoever.

Here's his tribute to Michael Jackson (one of his biggest influences);

sorry, but everyone's taste is different....

1. this is a guy with a bucket on his head,
2. nearly half of what he plays isn't shredding, which means more than half of what he plays is,
3. and your grandma likes him.

You ain't painting a pretty picture for me. :wink:

1. Irrelevant when you're listening to his music.
2. Indeed it is, I was just correcting guys that seem to think that shredding is all he does, like the following comment: "Granted he can play extremely fast up and down the neck, but to me it all sounded the same." And with a discography of over 150 albums, there's more mellow stuff in there than most artists could release in 2 lifetimes.
3. Yep, well she did.
4. Not trying to paint a pretty picture mate, just dispelling some myths :) That's fine if you don't like him or he's not to your taste.

See that's why he wears it, to keep shallow closed-minded people out of his fanbase :lol:

It works.
