So basicaly that's it, the guitar legend is coming out with some dusty studio takes that we haven't heard before. I'm happy to get my hands on some of them, but on another hand... ain't there some new music we should be looking foward to? Is it just me, or is there something wrong with all this?

Anyway the tracklisting for "Valleys Of Neptune" is:

01. Stone Free
02. Valleys Of Neptune
03. Bleeding Heart
04. Hear My Train A Comin'
05. Mr. Bad Luck
06. Sunshine Of Your Love
07. Lover Man
08. Ships Passing Through The Night
09. Fire
10. Red House
11. Lullaby For The Summer
12. Crying Blue Rain

Wow i hadn't even heard about that. I'll be gettin' that for sure. It'll be great to hear some fresh Hendrix stuff for once.

It takes a true musician to come out with new material more than thirty years after your own death. :D

Rest in peace, Jimi, we love ya.

They did something like this back in the mid-1970's with the "Crash Landing" album. I hope this effort is equally as good. 8)

And in the '80s with "Nine To The Universe". I love that album ...

Should be interesting.

There are quite a few bootleg studio recordings floating around that could be used for new material.

I have quite an extensive collection of Hendrix boots and concerts.

It would be great if the album contained all previously unheard tracks but what Janie hendrix seems to be doing is using previously released tracks as filler so that she'll be able to release more "new" albums,a good money making scheme for sure. You can rest assured that the next release will be of the same format. My opinion of Janie hendrix hit rock bottom with the cynical, completely mercenary release of the ill-planned and fated Gibson Hendrix "Strat".This release just continues to fortify my opinion,I won't be buying it on a matter of principle ,no matter how much I love and idolize him and his music,I refuse to further line her pockets.

Somebody needs to go to Janie and tell her,"Say Janie, you should take all of your, I mean Jimi's, great ideas and shove them in the newly mapped Valleys of Uranus." Or something along those lines >.>

This has got to come to an end soon. I bought the 4 cd box set some years back and totally loved it but now it seems they are sifting through every can of tape and just putting stuff out to make a buck.

Jimi took his music very seriously and has Janie ever thought a lot of this would not be up to his standards. Making money by using his name and likeness on merchandise is one thing, but crossing the line with his music is a dangerous issue. I think everyone knows the story how Jimi got very frustrated with Dave Masons playing of the intro of All along the Watchtower until he got it the way Jimi wanted it. So I really think he would not be so thrilled with every snippet he played on seeing the light of day.

I look forward to pirating this album for the very same reason!
