I was just wondering how everybody rated their top 3 favorite guitarist tones…. Not necessarily your favorite bands or artiest, music, or styles, but you favorite TONES… in general from a player.

Mine are
1 Billy Gibbons
2 Joe Bonamassa
3 David Gilmour

Lets hear them….I’m curious what my forum brothers and sisters consider Killer TONE…Give me your top three..

Cheers
Bill

1. Brian May
2. Jimi Hendrix
3. Jimmy Page

Yeah, I know, very common guitarists, but I just really can't imagine anybody else who I'd pick. They are really the mainstays of the guitarist world, in my opinion.

Significant for me are:

Mark Knopfler
Brian May
Joe Bonamassa (on the You And Me album)

That covers plenty of tones.

Cheers - C

A list of only three is kinda like... not really conclusive. I just tried to avoid the "same old, same old". Put any top talent in the list and I probably like them a lot. 8)

I love Eddie's tone on the early albums (pre-1984).
