It's not really a good idea to post your own lyrics on the internet, especially if you haven't copyrighted them. Next thing you know, somebody has a hit with it before you do.

I'm not too hot with words anyway.

Anyway, without hearing any music to back up the lyrics, you're really only posting a poem.

I'm just composing instrumentals and only when I can find the time, but the advice above regarding copyrights is sound. I stopped posting my tracks until they were copyrighted and registered with my PRO. Even if you're not in it for the money, you don't want someone passing off your work as theirs.

Poems are good. :wink:

"I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;
For so swiftly it flew, the sight
Could not follow it in its flight.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where;

For, who has sight so keen and strong
That it can follow the flight of song?
Long, long afterward, in an oak
I found the arrow, still unbroke;
And the song, from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend."

-- Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

All the songs on my imploded band's myspace page are originals.

If you like the punk rock, old school, take a listen:

http://www.myspace.com/CrashPad

That's me singing and playing guitar on them, along with a version of the band from several years ago.

You can hear my originals at the MySpace site listed below... I go by the name of Bratt Scovil there.

And the songs are copyrighted.

Enjoy!

I'm in the process of composing a song about my brother, unfortunately I would not be able to post the lyrics here.
