Just got my tickets to the BB King/Buddy Guy concert and across the top: NO CAMERAS/NO RECORDING.....now, i can see no recording(I wouldnt any way)but no cameras? What do these people expect? If I go to a vacation spot or something cool i take pictures for memories, ya know?
How often will I get the chance to see these legendary performers together? Then the only way to remember it is by my faulty memory? :?
I realize that performers may not want flashes going off in their face, but one would think they would understand by now....(being famous and having their pic took) Sorry to rant here folks, but isnt this a bit o BS?
What are your thoughts on this?

Yeah, that is pretty crazy! How are they going to stop people with camera phones from taking pictures? :?

That's too bad... :(

I've been to many concerts where they don't allow cameras......and people end up in the audience with cameras. I've never seen anyone go after them, even though I, myself, can see them taking pics.

A lot of artists/performers have their own publicity/PR people who don't want an unauthorized document distributed. I'd respect their rules, they've worked hard to get where they are.

Just my 2 cents...

Exactly. The focus (no pun intended) is to keep out the pro gear.

I had a buddy who many years ago funded his photography habit by taking pics at concerts. He'd pay a scalper for good seats. Took a ton of photo's, then turned around and sold the 8x10's. Got some great Springsteen/small club pics, Fleetwood Mac, etc. I believe he still sells them 30+ years later. Legally I don't know if it's a problem or not. Heck I've got a few i took myself. It is nice to have pics of Linda Ronstadt back in her days of cut-off jeans ... sigh. As stated before they were all shot with high speed film with a good Nikon camera. No flash.

No snobbery here, but I guess it just depends on you expectations. You kind of proved my point. No offense. With any film camera you also run the risk of your film being "lost" or a zillion copies being made of your photos too.

No offense takin. Its still 100 times better than a cell phone pic, or better yet... No picture at all! For that very reason I keep these negatives in a fire proof lock box.
