I saw this and couldn't help but think I was watching a guy who wanted to be JM. Of course, he's gotta work on his lead playing. I did find it interesting to see him playing a Fender because with his brother act it's all Gibson.

Work on his lead play? that guitar was little more than a prop! I rue the day Disney took in mind to produce music. RUE!!!!! And in addition. The drummer looked like he was about to take in that stool like a supository!

I'm pretty sure that's no Fender he's playing. Not a traditional Tele headstock and there was no Fender logo.

The world does not need another John Mayer.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I'd rather have a bunch of people copying John Mayer than a bunch of people playing synthesizers and drum machines like in the 80s, or boy bands like I remember in the 90s, or rap/hip hop influenced pop like in more recent years. Whatever you think (or I) of John Mayer as a bluesman or as a person, his influence on the pop genre is a good one.

Any idea what it is?

I meant to contrast his use of Gibsons with this new use of a Fender-style guitar (even if it is some sort of copy). He does have a lot of woodshedding to do, but John Mayer look out!

Ha! I don't think I'd go that far!

I won't be buying his new CD ... though I do dig that lead player and massive drummer!

Actually I think Mayer would be more correctly compared to someone like Frampton. Pretty-boy looks for ladies, but with skill to back it up. This kid is not the next John Mayer. Even when JM was doing strictly pop songs he was a heck of alot better electric and acoustic player than this Jonas kid.

How can you even compare his playing to this?

Frampton after Humble Pie. I was thinking the same thing. Or maybe Davy Jones from the Monkees LOL.
