i agree ninja but this is the FENDER site and I think brand loyalty is king here...yeah?

Not at all. I think this sites main role is to maintain brand intrest from potential consumers. I think FMIC would be far more happy if this site were popluated with 50%non fender owners/50%masterbuilt strat owners.

So BBB what about a Guild?

To BigJay: I think the point of the OP is that he will soon be a "Les Paul guy" and no longer a "Strat guy", and not the post count ...

To the OP: Nothing wrong with Les pauls, man. Can you swing keeping the Strat and still acquiring the LP? Best of both worlds ...

I hate to think what would happen to me if I mentioned 'swinging both ways' in any sentence uttered to my missus.

Seriously BBB I'd like to see the nut install. I'm quite the amateur fanatic about guitar nuts.

On the les paul watch the neck binding where the frets meet the binding. I looked at 12 LP's in November with a view to buy one. Everyone had the issue of the highE snagging in a gap there. I gave up in the end figuring it was going to have to be a studio or a Tokai. I know forum user 'The Wood' had the same issue with his new one too. Its well worth paying attention to that detail when shopping for one.
All the best with it. I still think your better off with a Guild. But needs must when the devil drives.
