Well, what did you expect?

Well I certainly didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition...

Just to get in on the act, here's an owl I know personally:

Now you're going to ask what sort of owl that is, and I'm damned if I can remember. Her name is Millie though - pretty, ain't she? (Not mine, obviously: but she lives nearby...)

Ceri,

Millie's a beauty, she looks like some kind of Eagle Owl. Although if she's an adult, perhaps a bit small for a European Eagle Owl. I used to work in an Owl sanctuary in North Somerset, that was a great experience. Thanks for the pix, made my day :D

Ha - well that is at an owl sanctuary in Cornwall, just west of Plymouth. Maybe you know it? What I like is that at night they open all the cages and let the birds fly free. They all come back again to roost at home afterwards. Neat!

BTW Snowy: you sure are full of surprises!

8) - C

PS: Eagle owl is certainly ringing a bell. Oh, and at our place in Devon we have many tawny owls hooting at night. And just one time I saw a long-eared owl on a branch in the garden. Can't mistake that one for anything else... :D

I believe I know the place you're talking about, if it is... I have a book on Owl's by the lady who runs the sanctuary. I have a Tawney Owl close by, I hear him most evenings when down in the woods. And by day, there is a Buzzard who swoops by quite often. There's good hunting for them in the valley, wonderful birds. Thanks again for the beautiful pix. I have some hard copie pix, of me flying Barn Owls amongst others. I'll scan them when I get a chance, maybe lol
I just remembered I had long hair back then

Oh man, we'd love to see those pics! (We'd love to see that hair too... :D )

I must admit, it didn't occur to me this thread was heading anywhere interesting - but Mike has an infallible touch, doesn't he? Never doubt that fella! 8)

Cheers - C

Spooky man!!! I was sitting here thinking the same thing. Our man in Miami can post the most obscure thread subject matter, and still get a ten pager or more. By the way... how do you take your coffee?
