I sold 3 guitars this week.

An old 80s Memphis Les Paul copy that I got on Freecycle. I put $50 into it and got $150 for it.

A Classic Players 50s Strat in 2-tone burst that I got for $400 and sold for $550.

And a '77 Musicmaster that I had left sitting in my friend's garage for 10 years for $300.

I do have a new guitar coming on Thursday so I'll only be down net 2 guitars. I'm also thinking trying to find a blues jr on Craigslist.

I tried to come up with a clever acronym, but failed. I'd have to define what you have as gear liquiditaion syndrome.

Or herd reduction syndrome.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I agree w/stray, G.A.S is something that you just can't shake. Hope you find a good deal on the jr., one of my favorite amps.

How about GROSS...Grand Reduction Of Sonic Stuff.
I've also been thinking about selling off some items...maybe my Strat (I prefer my Tele), my Gibson Doublecut TV Yellow and either my Carol-Ann DO2-100w or my Reinhardt Fat Albert 50w.

Me too. I want to get rid of 3 guitars and 2 amps one of them being a blues jr. I dont even want to replace em with anything. I'm at the stage where I just want a couple of guitars and a amp and make that lot work for me. Rather than waste brainpower wondering what if this guitar into this, like that.
ROAD Reduction of acquisitions dementia.

Luckily whilst scanning internet ads earlier I found several people in the UK wanting to buy assorted guitars and amps in bulk.

My case of G.A.S. is too bad to be thinking of the opposite. I hope you guys don't do anything you will regret down the road.

S.A.G.S. Selling Acquired Gear Syndrome

Good one!

I've been slowly collecting for 40 years and in the last year I've culled my equipment down to just 2 outstanding strats, one tele, and one super amp!! Gave away most to my children and sold some stuff. I just sold my last unused amp to a man that plays for a New Orleans band called "The 50 Ft. Marilyn's" Ha! They gig with 2 extra large female legs with fishnet stockings on either side of the stage.
Anyway I've got the guitars(and pups, ect.),amp, and effects that will last me the rest of my life.
Does not mean that I don't love to look!!
